If you are looking for a fantastic destination for your next family vacation, take a trip back in time in American History and visit lovely Boston, Massachusetts. Everyone of every age will certainly enjoy the great history, entertainment, sports, and fun available in this classic Massachusetts city. Whether you make it a weekend trip or a week's vacation, the options are endless when it comes to things to do and see in the state's capital. The patriot in everyone will come alive with a trip to Boston. For those of you with a patriotic inclination, there is the famous Boston Massachusetts Freedom Trail. This trail includes 16 historic sites that played an important part in the making of America. Not only this trail but there are many more things to enjoy here for adults and children alike. Put on your most comfortable walking shoes, as this trail is best covered on foot and would take you to Boston's historic buildings, special places, memorials and statues. This way you would see much of Boston on foot. You can hire Park Rangers for a guided tour of the trail or explore it yourself. It is advisable to start your adventure at the National Park Visitors Center near the Old State House. If you are a sports fan you will take a special thrill seeing the world famous Boston Red Sox knock one out of the park. The classic Fenway Park is one of the best parks in the entire professional baseball circuit, and the Sox are back and better than ever before after their record breaking victory. The football fans do not have to worry either. Boston is home to the Super Bowl Winners of 2002, 204 and 2005- the New England Patriots. People of all age group would enjoy their exploits. Just check out their schedule to see when they are playing at the lovely Gillette Stadium, in the South of Boston. If you hadn't seen Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market when in Boston, then you hadn't seen anything at all. These two are attractions enough in themselves to worth a visit, but you can find everything from fresh fruits, vegetables and great souvenirs of the city. Emeril Legasse, the professional chef, is the latest resident of this area and his live shows are a big draw. An afternoon spent exploring Boston Common is rewarding for the entire family. The Bostonians are extremely fond of this green space. Your kids will enjoy playing on the many play grounds and you can enjoy a pick up game of baseball, softball, basketball, or soccer. Another great green space in the city is the Public Garden. The world famous Swan Boats are located here, so bring the entire family to experience a ride on these great boats. Any fans of E.B. White will especially relish the swan boats, as they appeared in his classic book, "Trumpet of the Swan." Lastly, do not miss the Harvard University, the world famous Massachusetts institution of higher learning. Seeing the fantastic and historic grounds of Harvard may arouse your kid's interest. And you could always purchase some good books and Ivy League wears from Harvard Square.
