While it is certainly unfortunate, the fact is that many vacation spots are either designed and built for children or for adults—almost never for both. It may be true that such places offer options for both adults and children but both groups are rarely happy with the results. One way or another, the adults either end up spending the majority of their vacation traversing from children's hot spot to the next or the kids become lost in a maze of boring choices and spend the majority of the vacation wandering about looking for anything to relieve their boredom. One such place that caters to the interest of both adults and kids is Memphis, Tennessee. It's a true family vacation spot that ensures that both the adults and the kids get their load of fun and enjoyment. Whether it is the outdoor activities such as hiking and biking that the family is into or park rides, there is plenty of variety that ensures that adults and kids get to enjoy a good holiday. Children and parents alike will love taking a ride down the mighty Mississippi River using the River Walk. Visitors are treated to the rare pleasure of following this major river upstream and it is sure to be an adventure that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. History buffs will absolutely fall in love with the sheer possibilities that a trip to Memphis offers its visitors. The Memphis Belle, the infamous bomber made so by the Hollywood movie of the same name, is on display for all to see when they visit this historic and vibrant city. The mighty Graceland is steeped in all the magic and history that surrounds it. This great mansion has been preserved exactly as it was when the King was alive. It was made famous by Elvis Presley and millions of fans go to Graceland every year to take part in the annual candlelight vigil held on August 16th— the anniversary of the King's death. The Peabody Hotel is certainly a place that both adults and children should find entertaining when they visit Memphis. The famous hotel is home to a group of famous ducks who call the roof of the hotel their home. Every morning round 10 these spoiled ducks actually take an elevator ride down to the grounds so that they can feed. The hotel is not just a hot spot for the ducks and tourists because even local big shots tend to make several visits out to the hotel every year for one reason or another. Libertyland Amusement park is a popular spot with children that is also closely located to entertainment spots that cater to the adults of the family. This place is reputed for its vintage 1909 carousel and does provide other popular entertainment such as midway games, rides and such other shows. Weather not permitting a visit to a park, the Children's Museum of Memphis deserves a visit for entertaining and educational displays that are likely to keep the children highly absorbed. The list would go on. There is so much about Memphis that it makes one of the rare places that provide something entertaining and exiting to adults and children. In fact the locations are so many that it's worth your while to plan your vacation based on just some of the places or events you would like to cover in this vacation and spare some for the next time. And believe me, there will be a next time!
