Miami - A Sportlover's Paradise

Miami is a sports enthusiast's paradise! Between high tension games at college and professional level, world class golf, and excellent water sports, it is no wonder why Miami draws sportsmen and women of all ages to is sunny shores. Located in the Sunshine State of Florida, Miami's excellent climate allows for year round fun.

If you are in the market for fantastic football, check out the Miami Dolphins. This venerable program allows stars of all calibers to shine on and off the field. A day at the football stadium is an excellent way to spend time with the entire family, or have a friends day out while watching some prime time action take place on the grid iron.

One thing that awaits all the baseball fans is the Florida Marlin team. Winners of the 2003 World Series Championship, they have an excellent sporting record and happen to be clear winners with the fans. Spring is the season when you can actually follow these stars, as this is the season when their training takes place until the fall when they have to start competing. And you couldn't have asked for a venue better than the diamond on the East Coast.

The Miami Heat is the National Basketball Association affiliate of Miami. This team boasts the state of the art American Airlines Arena as their home court. Visitors of all ages regularly attend to root the team to victory under the watchful eye and capable hand of some of the best players the NBA has to offer.

The Homestead Miami Speedway is a favorite with racing fans and race drivers alike, especially since its recent renovation that added 20 degrees of extra banking to the track. The Homestead hosts the adrenaline pumping Nextel Cup race, making the lovers of this traditional sport head back to sunny Florida.

For Golfers, Miami offers an abundance of golf courses suitable for every level of competition, ranging from amateurs to professionals. You can use your Miami vacation to hit the links and hone your golfing skills or to teach a budding young golfer in the family some tricks and tips of the game.

If fishing is your scene, then you will love Miami's warm waters and the chance to try your hand at catching the big one! Miami's deep waters are teeming with all sizes and types of fish from delicious dolphins to massive marlins through the year. The fishing license can be purchased through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website. So, you can actually obtain the proper documentation for your fishing excursion, before you start your holiday.

What's a visit to Miami without enjoying a few water sports? Snorkelers and SCUBA divers love the crystal clear waters of Miami that is packed with ocean life. Enjoy a day on a boat or try your hand at water skiing or wake boarding. If the wind is right, check out wind surfing or the more adventurous kite boarding. Whatever your sports interest, you are sure to find it in Miami.
