2003 California Wildfire Worst in Its History to That Time In late October 2003 the state of California was hit with the worst wildfire that it had ever experienced. Twenty people where killed and much damage to local communities resulted. Delaware Valley Flood Results in Severe Damage In August of 1955 hurricanes Connie and Diane passed through the Delaware valley area dropping over 8" of rain. With little warning the Delaware River flooded creating havoc as a result. Huge Landslide Destroys Ski Resort In July of 1997 a tremendous landslide rolled over the Thredbo Ski Village in Australia causing massive damage and virtually burying everything in its path. Some of the Worst Tornados in US History Result in Massive Damage On April 11, 1965 a massive series of tornados hit the states of Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan with wind gusts as high as 318 miles per hour, killing 250 people and injuring some 1500 others. Tsunami Hits Coastal Communities Across Southeast Asia, Killing an Estimated 275,000 People On December 26, 2004 the Asian Tsunami hit the coastal regions of Southeast Asia becoming one of the largest and deadliest catastrophes of our time.
